Accounts Payable Specialist

Location: Pleasanton, CA (Onsite)
Pay: $28-$31/hour
Type: Temporary Assignment

Summary

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to support day-to-day AP operations. This role is responsible for entering invoices, maintaining vendor files, ensuring accurate documentation, and supporting the accounting team with administrative functions. The ideal candidate is reliable, organized, and committed to delivering high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set up new vendor profiles and maintain vendor files
  • Process and enter invoices into VantagePoint; prepare accurate back-up documentation
  • Review and verify appropriate coding and approvals
  • Process W9s and help maintain compliance documentation
  • Review vendor statements, research discrepancies, and follow up with vendors as needed
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to the Accounting Team as assigned by the Controller

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Friendly, positive, and professional demeanor
  • Strong punctuality and reliable onsite attendance (Monday-Friday)
  • Ability to quickly learn new software and adapt to new technology
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accurate work

Minimum Experience, Education & Certifications

  • 3+ years of accounting experience in a professional services environment
